[ that is unusual, but what's more unusual is keeping a powered down droid, when it would normally go to the scrap heap. she directs her next question at poe, tipping her chin up. ]

Is the droid important?

[ she probably doesn't, but she's not sure. and there's a point to the question, even if it might seem like a non-sequitur. ]

He's - I guess the last of the Jedi. R2 is his droid.

A Jedi? [ her voice rises, infused with more excitement than he'll have ever known from her. ] You know Jedi?

[ her mother's words. chirrut's beliefs — they meant something real. ]

I don't know him personally. My mom knew him, though. And General Organa is his sister.

[ she gets excited over the mention of the jedi, his own expression grows just a little more starry-eyed when he mentions general organa. ]
